From wide panoramic images, the equivalence of modern aerial photograph, shows the skylines of cities such as The Hague, Amsterdam, Delft, and Haarlem located near the North Sea. Captured are the windmills, church towers, fortifications, and daily Dutch life along it’s canals, docks, locks, city streets, and town squares, during the Dutch Golden Age.

The exhibit marks the 400th anniversary of English explorer, Henry Hudson’s voyage from Amsterdam to the Eastern coast of America in 1609, which after exploring the Chesapeake Bay, he sailed on to New York harbor and up the Hudson River. He was looking for a passage to the Pacific Ocean, but discovered none existed when he reach as far as Albany. The spot he landed in Manhattan became a thriving Dutch settlement that eventually developed into New York City.
