Wreaths Across America at Arlington

Each Memorial Day, Arlington National Cemetery honors soldiers killed or wounded in the line of duty by placing a small American flag on their grave site. The service is called Flags In.

The annual Wreaths Across America began in 1992 when the Worcester Wreath Company started laying 20-inch diameter wreaths with a hand-tied red bow on the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery.  Over the years, the program started accepting donations and grew to include over 200 national and veterans cemeteries across the country, including Arlington National Cemetery, nine cemeteries in Maryland and 21 in Virginia.

This year, the program at Arlington National Cemetery doubled the number of wreathes to 10,000.

The annual wreath-laying ceremony was held on Saturday, December 15th.

Thank you, thank you, for all you have given for us and this wonderful country! Maybe we can get all the politicians to follow and enforce our Constitution and the laws of our nation that all these men and women have so valiantly defended!
