Mount Vernon Craft Fair - Sept. 15-16

In it’s 12th year, the family-oriented Mount Vernon 18th-Century Craft Fair features over 50 Colonial-attired crafters and artisans selling and demonstrating how to create 18th-century crafts and sell traditional wares such as baskets, woodcarvings, tin and ironwork, leather goods, weavings, paper-cuttings, furniture and more.

Besides touring the home of George Washington and included with the price of admission to Mount. Vernon, the grounds will be turned into a lively 18th-century celebration with period music, fire-eating and sword-swallowing performers, puppet and magic shows for the kids, and even a colonial competition - rat-catching.

Grab some hearty Colonial style food which will also be on sale.

Over the weekend, Potomac River sightseeing cruises, (Spirit Cruises and Potomac Riverboat Company), are free at Mount Vernon’s Wharf.
