Close Encounter of the Deer Kind

This morning, while on a bike ride through some  of my favorite local woods, I surprisingly came face-to-nose with a small herd of deer; a buck, two does and a two very cute fawns who were all casually feeding just a couple feet off the edge of the bike path.

The buck cautiously eyed me for several minutes before realizing that his morning breakfast was significantly more interesting than me.

What great photos!! I saw a doe just yesterday in the field behind our house, but the minute she spotted me, she took off bounding toward the woods. Would have loved to shot a few pics. She was the most gorgeous shade of red/brown.

I’ve learned to alway try to carry my camera with me, because you never know what you might see. I think we both startled each other a bit and just froze.
