The Most Exciting 8 Seconds in Sports
It’s not about being tough…it’s about being the toughest.
The rules are simple - put a cowboy crazy enough to try to ride an ornery 2,000 pound bucking bull, let him use just one hand to hang on, and see if he ride for 8 seconds. That’s professional bull riding, the most exciting 8 seconds in sports.
Scoring uses a possible 100 point score. Two judges, each with 50 points to award, score each riders. One half of the score is based on the bull’s performance (spins, speed, bucks, jumps, kicks). If the bull just stands there, the cowboy earns a re-ride.
The second half is based not just on staying on for the required 8 seconds, but how good the rider looks while on the bull. Riders earn “style” points for good body position, spurring and overall control. Riders get disqualified if they touch the bull or any part of their body with their free hand.
The riders in this event are competing in the PBR Enterprise Tour, the newest competitive series in the PBR. It features upcoming and established riders, but may not included all of the best riders who normally compete in the Built Ford Tough Series. But the riding should still be exciting and scary. This is not a traditional rodeo, it’s all about bull riding.

Dates and Times - Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 and Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2:30.
Tickets - Adults - $20, $30, $40 and $65, kids- $15 and $65. Available online.
Nearest Metro Subway Station - Vienna - Orange line, then a 10 minute cab ride. Cabs are NOT usually waiting for passengers after concerts, so make prior arrangements.
Parking - Parking is included in the ticket price.
