The Keeper of Flamenco

by Jon on February 27th, 2007

Flamenco 1Carlota Santana has been called the Keeper of Flamenco. She originally formed  the Spanish Dance Arts Company in 1983 in New York City before it changed its name to Flamenco Vivo, to develop and perform new Spanish dance and music, to develop and perform new Spanish dance and music.

By combining the smoldering sensuality of traditional flamenco with more modern Hispanic-American influences her company has developed a unique and passionate style of Flamenco dance. You can expect lots of color, rapidfire footwork and dramatic choreography. Their performances reflect the traditions of Flamenco - full of pride, passion, honor, love, sorrow, and death.

Expect this flamenco fiesta (performance) to be caliente!!
