The Gargoyle’s Den – Just for Kids
Washington National Cathedral is known for its unique and stunning architecture.
But getting kids interested in a visit may be a bit of a challenge. Even though the Cathedral boasts:
Towers that are 300 feet tall
Over 100 gargoyles
Over 200 stained-glass windows
The largest stained glass window is a 26 foot rose window with over 10,000 pieces of glass
53 bells, the largest being over 8 feet tall and weighing over 24,000 pounds
