Snow Tubing – Before the Snow Melts

by Jon on February 28th, 2007

Tubing 3After the recent snowfall that hit our area, it’s an ideal time to go skiing or snowboarding, that that is if you know how to ski or snowboard.  If you love the outdoors, playing in the snow and want to have some fun, snow tubing may be the answer.

Less than a couple hours from DC, are a few ski resorts. One, Whitetail Resort, in Mercersburg Pennsylvania, offers 10 downhill snow tubing lanes and is open for tubing every afternoon and evening during the week and all day and weekends.

Tubing 2Snow tubing is similar to sledding, except instead of using a sled or toboggan, you sit or lay on a large inner tube. What makes it so easy, is that gravity does all the work to propel you down the hill.  At the end of your run, just take the enclosed Magic Carpet Conveyor lift back to the top of the hill.
