Music and More - Planet Arlington

The Arlington Annual World Music Festival brings together the rich cultures and music from around the globe. This family friendly event will feature WAMUs (88.5 FM) always entertaining noon time talk show host, Kojo Nnamdi, as the MC.

So pack a picnic and enjoy the world beat.

Bands scheduled to appear include:

  • 4:00 - Hot Ska from Ska-Talites
  • 5:00 - Brazilian percussionist Cyro Basptista
  • 6:00 - New Orleans jazz band, Benny Jones, Sr. and the Treme Brass Band
  • 7:00 - Latin Grammy winner Lila Downs
  • 8:00 - South African jazz flugelhorn and cornet player, Hugh Masekela

Date and Time - Saturday, September 1st, 4:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Tickets - This event is free.

Nearest Metro Subway Station - Arlington Cemetery - Blue line.

Parking - Parking is usually pretty easy at the Iwo memorial but will be tough, so plan on parking in Rosyln and walking a few blocks. __________________________________________________
