Pick Your Own Flowers

by Jon on July 9th, 2007

With Dahlias, Oriental Lilies and a wide variety of herbs in season, now is the ideal time to pick your own flowers at Field of Flowers.

This working farm in suburban Purcellville, Virginia, (about an hour from DC) lets the public select and cut their own flowers every Thursday.  Housed in a pre-Civil War barn is the garden and gift shop, selling dried flowers, wreaths, and fresh and dried floral arrangements as well.

We are profiling cutting gardens and pick-your-own flower gardens in the greater DC area. This one in Purcellville is one of the few in VA we have found. Maryland seems to have more. There are many flower growers that do not allow to public to come in and pick - which is a shame as this is a great family outting or date idea.
