Pretend you’re Sherlock Holmes, Jessica Fletcher, Magnum PI or a member of Washington’s CSI team and solve a murder mystery at the National Gallery of Art.

A museum curator, Roger Simon, has been murdered, but he left clues pointing to one of four suspects, all related to works of art located all around the museum.  Grab your magnifying glass, CSI detective kit and brain power to collect “Just the facts, Maam” and try to determine who dunnit.  Wander the museum picking up clues and facts that help you discover the identity of the murderer and solve the crime.

After you get your instructions, clues and perhaps a map, while working in teams of 2–6 adults, you’ll have just 2 hours to uncover the mystery.  The team with the most points wins, but it’s really about the thrill of hunt. Winners receive a Watson Adventure t-shirt.

If you come alone, you’ll be paired with other “detectives”.

Running hunts since 1993, Watson Adventure Scavenger Hunts puts on scavenger, mystery and gourmet hunts in over a dozen cities.  Their DC hunts are scheduled throughtout the year and happen at various DC museums, the zoo and as part of a Georgetown or National Mall tour.  They even offer theme-based hunts, including a racey Valentine’s Day adult-themed nudes in art hunt on 2/14.  Hunts are designed for either adults or families with kids 7-14, so check which one is best for you.  The murder hunt is geared for adults.
