Holiday Skating Fun in Northern Virginia

by Jon on December 20th, 2007

Reston Ice Skaters 1If getting down to the Mall and the National Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Art for some outdoor ice skating, is difficult. Residents of Northern Virginia can enjoy a relaxing ice skating experience without the holiday Mall traffic and parking problems, at the Reston Town Center ice skating rink.

The rink is usually not very crowded and a good place for first-timers, especially smaller kids to learn.  The skating pace is slow, so parents don’t need to worry about their kids getting bowled over by speed demons.

You can also sign up for Saturday morning skating lessons - four 25-minute sessions for $60.00.

After your skate you can warm up with a hot cocoa at Starbucks, satisfy your chocolate craving at Edibles Incredible Dessert Cafe (try the yummy English Toffee), or grab lunch or dinner at one of the center’s many restaurants, including Paolo’s (try a salad with a Merquez Pizza ($10.95) topped with spicy lamb sausage and feta cheese).
