Hallelujah!!! Handel’s Messiah - Join in or Just Listen
This holiday season, there are many opportunities to hear George Frideric Handel’s Messiah.
The National Symphony Orchestra will again perform Handel’s most famous work and holiday masterpiece, Messiah in the Kennedy Center’s 2,442 seat Concert Hall.
Handel initially wrote and first performed the piece for Easter, but it has since become Christmas traditional since Handel’s death in 1759.
The free annual Handel’s Messiah sing-along will also occur on Sunday, December 17 at 7:45 p.m. Along with you as a participant, join the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, a 200-voice choir, soloists and over two thousand singers in the audience.
Even if you can’t sing, you can always join in singing the well-known Hallelujah chorus!

Tickets
Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra sing-along - Free tickets (limit 2) will be given away on Saturday, December 9, 2006 in the Kennedy Center’s Hall of Nations, beginning at 10:00 a.m. This is a VERY popular event so plan on getting in line early for free tickets . Also, dress accordingly for a long wait outside.

Nearest Metro subway station
Foggy Bottom/George Washington University station (23rd and I St.) - Blue and Orange lines - then a 3 block walk.
There is also a free Kennedy Center shuttle that runs every 15 minutes Monday - Friday from 9:45 a.m.- Midnight, Saturdays 10:00 a.m.- Midnight, and from Noon - Midnight on Sundays.

Available at the Kennedy Center for $15.00.
Donations
Donations of canned goods will be accepted by the Capital Area Food Bank before each performance.
