Drivers unable to safely drive their car can request a free cab ride home, up to a maximum value of $50, starting at 10:00 p.m. and until 6:00 am on January 1st. If the ride costs more then $50, the passenger is responsible anything in excess of the $50 maximum.

The program is available to drivers 21 years old or older.

Call 1-800-200-TAXI (8294) from any DC, VA or MD mobile phone, landline or pay phone and mention the SoberRide program.

All calls must originate in the District of Columbia; Rockville, Bowie, College Park, Gaithersburg, Greenbelt and Takoma Park or Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland; and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Eastern Loudoun Counties as well as of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas and Manassas Park in Virginia.
