A Garden Hike Under a Full Moon

by Jon on March 16th, 2008

Enjoy a five-mile-long, mildly strenuous guided hike, through the moonlit gardens, woods and meadows during a Full Moon Hike at the National Arboretum in Washington, DC.

These tours, led by Arboretum specialists, are offered only a couple days a month, at 8:00 p.m., when the moon is full.

But reserve your walk quickly, as the limited slots fill very quickly.

What an awesome idea! Thanks for spreading the word. I love the Arboretum and it must look fantastic in moonlight. Metro is great but I don’t think I’d want to walk back to Bladensburg Rd. and wait for a bus after 10 pm however.

It does sound like an fun and interesting walk. I’d recommend taking the June or July hike for best the weather.

As to walking to the bus, a cab may be the safest bet to the Stadium Armory station.
