I remember my father talking about traveling in the deep South in the late 1940s, and being from the North, he was shocked to see the &quot;separate but equal&quot; water fountains, white only hotels and the other impacts of Jim Crow. 

January 20th will be a day to remember.</description>

		<description>I grew up during the Jim Crow era and never thought I would see an African American President during my lifetime.  This is just awesome!  I plan to be in the frey with my young adult children.  I have no tolerance for the kind of cold weather expected on Jan. 20th, but, that will not stop me.  I am not sure I have the stamina for the walking, standing on my feet for hours nor the crowds.  I plead temporary insanity.</description>
