Thanks Elizabeth. So many hotels are jumping on the green bandwagon.

Kimpton operates the Topaz Hotel, Hotel Palomar and Hotel Madera near Dupont Circle, as well as the Hotel George on Capitol Hill, and the Hotels Helix, Rouge, and Monaco around town.

Great tips about traveling green in Washington DC or anywhere else for that matter. And thanks for including Traveling the Green Way in the post.

It's not easy traveling green, but every little action helps...

cheers,

I guess by its nature, any "eco-tour" or "green vacation" uses up more energy, and creates more green house gasses than the people would if they stayed home. But at least it's a step in the right direction.

Jon,

In Phoenix, the Scottsdale Princess, now known as Fairmont Scottsdale, offers a green vacation package that includes an eco-tour that teaches guests about sustainability and the Leave No Trace philosophy while on a desert hike. I like it.
