The man who made the Persuasions sound, lead singer, arranger & producer for 40 years, Jerry Lawson, left them in 2003 -why? Many reasons including the guys lost their voices. If you have Persuasion fans in your audience May 30th they are in for a HUGE dissapointment. If you want the real King of a cappella get Jerry & his new
a cappella group. Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town
Jerry: It sounds as if there’s an interesting story behind you leaving The Persuasions, but if you perform in DC, please let me know.
Stop hating on The Persuasions! They sound great!!!
I never stated anything negative about them FS&S, it seems the negative comment came from a former bandmember.
yeah, that’s what it sounds like to me too. Jerry Lawson is great, but so was David Ruffin and other singers who leave great groups. anybody who keeps acapella alive these days should be held up, not put down…pretty childish.
