The DC Traveler

Is there a town in America with more monuments and memorials than Washington, DC?  I doubt it.

So with so many of them, it’s easy to miss a few, so here’s a recap of Monument Monday posts from the past few months.

• The Titanic – Memorializing one of the worst maritime disasters in history. 
• The FDR Memorial – A New Deal for America.

• U.S. Air Force Memorial – Off we go, into the wild blue yonder.
• The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial – The Original Rough Rider – “Teddy”.
• The Lincoln Memorial – One of America’s most important Presidents, he saved a divided nation.

• The Jefferson Memorial – “Hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.”
• The Vietnam Veterans Memorial – 58,000 names, 58,000 lives cut short.
• National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial – Since the first killing of a police officer in 1792, more than 17,500 more have died in the line of duty.
