Is this the latest in police anti-terrorist training camp?
No, it’s a Police Rodeo!!
One afternoon I was driving and saw a couple motorcycle police pass me, then a couple more, then even more, all heading to the same place. I wondered what was going on and since I had my camera with me, I thought I might get a scoop.
I soon discovered it was the Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Riding Committee holding their Annual Rodeo.
The competition is designed to build up the skills of motorcycle cops and improve the working relationships between different jurisdictions in the Washington metro area.
The multiple motorcycle riding skill courses were set up in a parking lot. Each course I discovered, has a name, such as The Snowman, Metro and The Maze. I wonder if they have groupies attend their rodeos.
And if any of you nice police officers ever pull over a guy in a red convertible sports car doing something stupid…can you let me off with just a warning???
