Java, Cup of Joe, Daily Grind, Jitter Juice

What ever you call it, coffee is one of the world’s most popular drinks.

It originated from the highlands of Ethiopia in the 9th century, and has grown to a per capita consumption of just over 2 lbs. for each man, woman and child in the world (about 14 billion pounds per year). Whether you brew your own or order a double shot espresso with skim, coffee has become as individual as a person’s ipod playlist.

At the Starbucks Coffee Festival in suburban Reston, Virginia, you can take a global coffee tour and sample 27 different coffees and blends paired with pastries.

There’ll be live music in the Pavilion as well as a cooking demonstration by the winner of the 2007 James Beard Foundation Award for Best International Cookbook, Chef Marcus Samuellson, author of “The Soul of a New Cuisine”.

Haha, that first pic is exactly how I feel in the morning. I find it incredible how some people have their coffee preferences down to a science. Me? Give me a regular cup of coffee or mocha, and I’m a happy camper.

So true Matt. For some people, their cup of coffee has a longer list if ingredients than the space shuttle.
