Scare Yourself to Death

I hate rollercoasters. Hate them with a passion. It all goes back to being 3 years old on my first coaster ride and being scared to death.

But for the people who love them….There’s just a couple weeks left to experience some of the mind-blowing thrill rides at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD.

I’ll let the video and photos speak for themselves.

Superman: Man of Steel – “Fly” 20 stories up at speeds up to 75 mph followed by a 200-foot plunge back to the ground on this mile long thrill ride.

The Wild One – A classic style wooden rollercoaster with a100 foot hill and speed bumps. SPEED BUMPS??? AT 45 MPH???

Wild One

Batman’s Batwing – Height, speed, loops, twists, scary and exhilarating.

The Mind Eraser – Strap you butt to a chair and let your feet dangle, then rip through a series of twists and turns ending with an inverted loop and corkscrew. Make sure you eat lunch AFTER this ride.

There’s also some non-heart attack producing rides, mild rides for young kids, as well as entertainment and stage shows with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the ever-lovable Sylvester and Tweetie.

As a kid I remember the parachute ride at Riverview in Chicago. You were actually strapped to a parachute and raised a few hundred feet, then dropped. There’s a ride I wish I would have tried.
