Here are a couple ideas, not sure if these are great for a 2 year old...also a couple links to ideas.

- The National Museum of Natural History - dinosaurs, insects, animals (but this may be more appropiate for bigger kids). Check out the Discovery Room.
- Jefferson Memorial - Tidal Basin paddle boats.
- Feed the ducks and birds (while your kid chases them) at the Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Great photo op.
- Hanes Point - more photo ops - http://www.thedctraveler.com/neptune-on-the-potomac-the-awakening-haines-point/
- Carosel on the Mall - have a bite of cotton candy too. http://www.thedctraveler.com/kids-fun-on-the-mall/

Hope these help.

hi Jon, this is great! We're taking a mini-break this July 4 and plan to explore DC. thing is, hubby and I have a two-year old toddler in tow. We're thinking the Washington DC zoo might be a good place to start, and then this theater. Where else can we take her?
